Betfair Football Advertising Boards
Produce an animated advertising board design that will go around the pitches at football games. The advert is to build awareness of Betfair and associate it with football.
The adverts will run for the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons at multiple clubs in the Premiere League, La Liga, Serie A and selected international fixtures.
Design Considerations
The design has to work across many differing specifications. The boards repeat around the perimeter of the pitch but each club has different ways of accomplishing this. Some teams have one long video file (10,000 pixels wide) that covers half of the stadium width and other teams use many repeating video files to accomplish the same effect. The animation used was a repeating set of Betfair logos that animate to the left and had to seamlessly sync with the boundaries of the boards. Other issues included visibility; the Betfair colours are yellow and Carbon and had to be striking at a distance, be made up of illuminated LEDs and deal with weather effects like sun glare and fog. An alternating pattern was chosen to ensure visibility as well as the use of a custom logo that is thicker than the usual Betfair logo.
